The apprentice program at Kimball House is designed to instill discipline, impart knowledge, and provide the training it takes to become a chef. The program follows the traditions of European apprenticeships, which focus on diligent mentorship in order to cultivate a rigorous set of skills applicable to food-focused businesses everywhere.

Under the watchful guidance of chef mentors, apprentices will acquire artisanal skills like bread baking, butchery, charcuterie, pastry, and preservation, as well as knife skills and other cooking fundamentals.
